The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am kicks off Thursday featuring just 25 of the top 100 golfers in the world.  While the field is a little weaker than last week’s event at the Waste Management Phoenix Open (winner Webb Simpson), the event is still a popular one with golfing celebrities like Bill Murray, Aaron Rodgers and Wayne Gretzky joining the field. The Great One will be playing alongside son in law Dustin Johnson who returns from a second place finish at the Saudi Open.  Expect some longgg rounds of golf as these guys are amateurs for a reason.

The first three days of the tournament are played at each of the courses listed above which means a 54 hole cut.  The Pebble Beach Golf Links course will be played for a second time on Sunday.  All three courses are under 7,000 yards which means approach stats will be important again this week.  Pebble Beach is also known for its small greens, so scrambling could be a key factor.

Phil Mickelson won last year finishing at -19 with Paul Casey runner up at -16.  Other past champions include Ted Potter Jr. (2018), Jordan Spieth (2017), Vaughn Taylor (2016), and Brandt Snedeker (2015).
